Bethel Man Arrested for DUI After Striking Curb Several Times: Newtown PD
Police say the man was also in possession of marijuana.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Bethel man was arrested for driving under the influence Monday night on Taunton Hill Road after police say he struck the curb several times. Zachary Serafim Furtado, 21, was arrested after 9:05 p.m. after being found with less than one-half ounce of marijuana.
Police say they responded to the area for a report of a green infinity driving erratically. Police stopped Furtado and determined that he was under the influence of an intoxicating substance.
Furtado was issued a misdemeanor summons for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was issued an infraction for possession of less than one half ounce of a cannabis substance. He was released on a $500 bond and is due in court on July 11.
