Bethel Man Charged With DUI In Newtown: Police

Police say the accused also did not have working tail lights on his vehicle.

NEWTOWN, CT —A Bethel man faces DUI charges after he was stopped in Newtown Friday evening. Police say they stopped David Soetbeer, 49, after receiving a report of an intoxicated male driving a vehicle at around 7:48 p.m.

He was stopped on Mt. Pleasant Roadat Suzie Drive. Following a brief investigation, Soetbeer was taken into custody.

He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to have tail lamps. The accused was released on a $100 cash bond.
