Bethel Municipal Election 2017: Absentee Ballots Now Available

The 2017 municipal election is just weeks away. Here is what you need to know if you plan on voting absentee.

BETHEL, CT — Bethel's municipal election is quickly approaching. On Nov. 7, candidates for numerous town positions will be running for your vote. If you cannot vote for several specific reasons, you can vote absentee.

Absentee ballots are now available for the upcoming election. Here is what you need to know, courtesy of the Bethel Town Clerk's office.

Who can vote absentee?

  • Active members of the armed forces.
  • Those who will be out of town during all hours of voting
  • An illness preventing the ability to vote on election day
  • Those with religious beliefs preventing them from voting on Election Day.
  • Those performing duties as an election official at a polling place other than your own during the hours of election day.
  • Those with physical disabilities that prevent from voting.

Absentee Ballot Application

Absentee ballots became available on Oct. 6. They must be filed with the Town Clerk's office, and you must be registered to vote.
