Bethel Protesters Rally for Ukraine at P.T. Barnum Square
About 100 gathered in Bethel to support Ukraine and protest U.S. policies. Next week's event will focus on education and food donations.

BETHEL, CT — Protesters gathered in P.T. Barnum Square on Saturday morning in a show of support for Ukraine.
The demonstration, organized by the grassroots group Bethel Blues, drew an estimated 100 people, according to organizers.
It was the second in a series of themed protests planned by the group in opposition to policies of the current administration in Washington, D.C.

“Our goal is to fill the entire square with voices that demand action,” said Denise Madeline, a spokesperson for Bethel Blues. “We will not go quietly into the good night, not without a fight!”
The group is now collecting nonperishable food donations for the Bethel Food Pantry at its weekly gatherings. The next protest is scheduled for Saturday and will focus on education.
