Master Jared Dunn age 30 of Bethel, who works as a Master Instructor at Connecticut Martial, flew to Texas last weekend to compete at "Cowboy Up" a AAAAA rated NASKA Tournament. That in itself is notable, but what's even more interesting is that this was only his third tournament since returning to the competition circuit after a six year hiatus.
Master Jared, a 5th Degree Black-belt won the men's Weapons Division with his Bo-Staff and placed 2nd in Trad Challenge and 3rd in Japanese Kata. Wanting a challenge, he competed in the 18 plus category which is historically much more difficult.
Besides the daily responsibilities of teaching classes at his parents Karate School, Master Jared also trains an elite group of students on his competition team.
