Bethel Residents Going Solar

Tax breaks spur locals to go green.

BETHEL, CT -- Thirteen homes have made the switch to solar power, encouraged by a statewide initiative offering financial incentives to "go green." The 20-week campaign in Bethel concluded last month.

The Solarize Connecticut program, through the Connecticut Green Bank, offers zero-percent financing loans and state incentives. Tax credits are also provided at the federal level for homeowners who switch to solar power.
