Bethel Teen Killed In Crash: Police

Four others suffered minor injuries, according to police.

WILLINGTON, CT — A crash Saturday night in Willington left a 19-year-old Bethel woman dead and four others injured, according to police.

Authorities identified the victim as Maria Damata.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on River Road near Adamec Road, police said. A 2007 Subaru Legacy was traveling south when, for unknown reasons, the driver — a 21-year-old man from Bethel — lost control of the car, which overturned, according to police.

The driver and three of his four passengers, also from Bethel — a 19-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man — were taken to Hartford Hospital with minor injuries, police said.
