Bethel Votes on Third Municipal Budget Proposal Thursday
Spending request reduced by $150,000 ahead of third vote.
After failing to pass at the first two referendums, Bethel’s municipal budget is going back to voters Thursday, this time with a 2.49 percent increase over the current year.
The $26,828,177 spending request is $650,669 more than the approved 2013-14 budget. The third proposal is down $151,108 from the budget that failed on June 12 and $381,108 less than the first proposal, voted down on May 15.
Polls are open Thursday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
