Brush Fire Burns Five Acres In Bethel, Danbury: Report

Firefighters have been battling a brush fire in Bethel and Danbury for the past two days.

BETHEL, CT — Area firefighters have been hard at work battling a brush fire on the Terre Haute land which broke out Tuesday afternoon, reports the News Times. Firefighters were working well into the afternoon Wednesday.

Firefighters left the scene at dusk Tuesday, and then returned Wednesday to put out hot spots. Terre Haute land is located near Tarrywile Park, and crews attacked the fire from the Danbury side.

Bethel Fire Marshal Tom Galliford said at least five acres burned in the fire, which may have been ignited by a camp fire.
