David Wood, 2010 Graduate of Ridgefield High, Passed Away
There will be a memorial service on Friday, June 3, at the First Congregational Church of Ridgefield.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — David Wood, a 2010 graduate of Ridgefield High School, died early Tuesday morning, May 17, in a single car accident in Bethel.
He was the son of Bobbie and David Wood of Ridgefield, and brother of Elena Wood (RHS ’06) of New York, N.Y. Parents Bobbie (Canada) and David are, respectively, New Canaan and Wilton High School graduates.
“ ‘Young David,’ as he was known to his family, was a gentle soul, finding love in everyone he met. Having just completed his junior year at Pace University in Westchester, he was vice president of the Accounting Society. Whether playing RBA basketball, carving 4-iron golf shots, hiking or washing his car, he enjoyed being active, and always focused on the positive,” the family said.
“Gentle people are getting harder and harder to find. So it is extra sad when such an innocent young person leaves us,” the family said.
There will be a memorial service on Friday, June 3, at the First Congregational Church of Ridgefield at 1 p.m., followed by a gathering at the Wood home.
The family asks that cards with any special memories be mailed to them at 10 Mountain View Avenue, Ridgefield, 06877.
