'Unimaginable Loss:' Slain Danbury Man Was Expecting A Baby With Fianceé
A GoFundMe page has been set up for the 37-year-old's fianceé and unborn child after he was shot in his residence last week.
DANBURY, CT — The woman a Danbury man killed by gunfire last week planned to marry has set up a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral arrangements and the couple's unborn baby.
Marilyn Mejia set up the page after the shooting death of her fiancé, Victor Luis Quispe, 37, of Danbury.
Quispe was shot and killed in his Lake Avenue residence after a bullet pierced his wall and struck him last Wednesday, Jan. 7, according to the Danbury Police Department.

Danbury police are still searching for a suspect in the shooting, issuing a call last Friday regarding the suspect, believed to be Quispe's neighbor.
Police said Friday it had an active arrest warrant for David "Davicito" Grullon of 43 Lake Ave., Unit 3, Danbury, in connection with the fatal shooting of his neighbor Wednesday.

As police continue their search for Grullon, Mejjia called her fiancé's death an "unimaginable loss."
"Víctor was a loving partner, a caring family member, and a man with a kind heart who meant so much to everyone who knew him," she wrote in the GoFundMe.
"As I grieve this unimaginable loss, I am also preparing to welcome our child into the world. No family should have to carry this burden alone. I am raising funds to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, immediate living costs, and ongoing support for myself and our baby."
The shooting rocked the Danbury community.
Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves called the situation "heartbreaking" in a statement released last Saturday.
"Our community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Victor “Vic” Quispe, whose life was taken far too soon," wrote Alves of Quispe, who was a prominent barber in the city.
"Vic shared his talent and his heart with so many through his work at Legends Barbershop, where he wasn’t just a barber, but a trusted friend to countless people across Danbury. His impact reached well beyond his craft.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Vic’s family, his fiancé, and their baby on the way as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
"May Vic’s memory be a blessing, and may his family feel the prayers, love, and strength of an entire community surrounding them."
