DAWS Recognizes State Rep Diana Urban

Animal Rights Advocate

The Danbury Animal Welfare Society, which operates northern Fairfield County’s largest no-kill animal shelter and a low-cost veterinary clinic, held its annual Fall for Animals gala at the Amber Room in Danbury on Saturday, Sept. 29. Celebrating her animal welfare related legislative achievements, the organization was delighted to honor retiring State Rep. Diana S. Urban of Stonington, pictured here with DAWS Board President William Jasper.

More than 200 people attended Saturday’s gala, which is the non-profit organization’s largest annual fund-raiser and featured live and silent auctions with items donated by dozens of local individuals and businesses. The Bethel-based organization rescues more than 800 dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies each year, placing them in forever homes. To volunteer or to donate, please visit daws.org or call 203-744-3297.
