Dedication To Be Held For Hometown Heroes Banners

The Bethel Patriotic Association cordially invites the public to attend the dedication of the hometown heroes banners on Sat, May 3 at noon.

The Bethel Patriotic Association cordially invites the public to attend the Bethel Hometown Heroes Banner Program dedication on Saturday, May 3rd at 12:00pm in front of the Bethel Town Hall.

The thirty-nine banners honoring local service members, both past and present, were installed on city-owned lampposts on School Street and will be displayed through Veterans Day. The banners were sold from August through March and display the honorees photo, name, rank, branch of service and era of service. Sponsors could also add their name to the bottom of the banner.

The event is open to the public. Bethel Patriotic Association President Bill Hagan will be the Master of Ceremonies. Speakers will include Bethel First Selectman Dan Carter, Program Advisor Lee Teicholz and State Representative Raghib Allie-Brennan from the 2nd Assembly District representing Bethel.

Kelly Gleason will sing the National Anthem, taps will be played by Michael Diminio and Deacon John DeRoin of Saint Mary Parish will be offering the invocation and benediction. The Bethel Navy JROTC will also participate in the ceremony.
