Drunk Man Arrested for Repeatedly Ramming Car Into Another Vehicle

Bethel police arrested a Middletown man after they said he rammed his vehicle into another after being blocked in a driveway.

BETHEL, CT — Bethel police arrested a Middletown man after they said he repeatedly rammed a vehicle into another person's after he was unable to get his car out of the driveway at 50 Maple Ave. in Bethel on Monday morning.

When police responded they found an unoccupied vehicle with extensive damage. An investigation revealed that Richard Gilbert, 49, of Middletown, repeatedly rammed another person's vehicle in order to get his own out of the driveway.

Police arrested Gilbert and charged him with operating under the influence, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He was released on $1,000 bond. He is due in court on Dec. 9, 2016.
