BETHEL, CT — Retired Bethel Police Department K-9 Officer Bishop has died following a decade of dedicated service, officials announced.

Bishop, who joined the department in October 2013 from Hungary, was partnered with Sergeant Adam Cleary, serving alongside him daily for ten years. The K-9 officer notably concluded his service with the successful tracking of a domestic violence suspect shortly before his retirement in summer 2023.

"In retirement, he spent the remainder of his days living happily at home with Sergeant Cleary and his family who loved him dearly," officials said.

The Bethel Police Department recognized Bishop's service and contributions to the town.
