Eversource Applies for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility for 3.4 Mile Overhead Line
The proposed overhead power line would extend from Bethel/Danbury through Brookfield.
Bethel, CT — Eversource Energy has applied for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need for the Southwest Connecticut Reliability Project that spans the municipalities of Bethel, Danbury, and Brookfield.

The project consists of construction, maintenance and operation of a new 115-kV overhead electric transmission line extending approximately 3.4 miles between Eversource’s existing Plumtree Substation in Bethel to its existing Brookfield Junction in Brookfield, according to the Connecticut Siting Council. the project also includes reconfiguration of two existing 115-kV double-circuit electric transmission lines at the Stony Hill Substation in Brookfield.
