Residents can look forward to fresh additions to the local economy from companies formed between late November and Christmas Day 2025.

• Facing affordable housing lawsuit, wealthy Fairfield County town OKs 72 apartments (courant.com) — Bethel officials have approved a scaled‑down 72‑unit Vessel Technologies apartment complex on Nashville Road, settling a lawsuit and avoiding a January court trial under Connecticut’s 8‑30g affordable housing law. The deal follows months of resident pushback over building height, density, traffic, and neighborhood character, and will reserve 30% of units as affordable housing for at least 40 years.

• Century-old Newtown home severely damaged in Sunday morning fire, officials say (ctpost.com) — A serious early-morning fire badly damaged a century-old home on Boggs Hill Road in Newtown, but no residents or firefighters were reported injured. Bethel firefighters were among several neighboring departments providing mutual aid as crews battled flames, freezing temperatures, downed live wires, and equipment issues.
