BETHEL, CT — Independence Day is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on in and around Bethel for 2023.

Bethel Parks & Recreation will be sponsoring The 57th Annual John DeMille Firecracker 8K Road Race on Tuesday, July 4.

The race kicks off from the Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center at 1 School Street at 8 a.m.

Online registration ends midnight July 3. There is a $25 race fee and a $2.50 sign-up fee. Registration price increases to $35 after June 30 at 11:59 p.m.
