Former Stony Hill Fire Chief Passes Away
He served both of the town's volunteer fire departments during his career.

BETHEL, CT — A former chief of the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company has died. The company announced on Facebook Tuesday that former chief Jim Belot passed away Monday after a long bout with cancer.
He was the company's chief from 1977 to 1983, and then served again in 2004.

"He served the department well, and found great happiness in his last year as a friend and mentor to the Department," according to the company's Facebook post.
According to a report from the News Times, Belot also served the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department before transitioning to Stony Hill.
