Letter: Allie-Brennan 'Fights For The Consumer And Small Businesses'

To the Editor

I would like to take this opportunity to write about a very special legislator with a lot of common sense, who fights for the consumer and small businesses.

There have been numerous times when Representative Raghib Allie-Brennan has taken the initiative to apply the “fair and right” test to issues, including those that involve locally owned businesses like my family’s. Since his election to serve the 2 nd District in 2018, he has proven that he truly cares about his constituents and keeps his promises to work hard for our best interests.

Rep. Allie-Brennan knows that small retailers create and retain jobs and give back to the community. I have had the opportunity to see him in action at the legislature and you can tell that he has a thorough understanding of the needs of small business owners and cares about growing a strong and diverse workforce.

I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside generations of family members and friends in our store, which has been serving the community for almost sixty years. Small, locally owned businesses like ours would not be able to exist without the laws protecting our livelihood and the support of great legislators like Representative Allie-Brennan. We are fortunate that we are represented by someone with a balanced and thoughtful approach. We need more like him in Hartford.
