New Art Studio 'Giggling Pig' to Open on Greenwood Avenue

The new Bethel art studio will be the second location for the owner, Hannah Perry.

Bethel, CT — Hannah Perry has run The Giggling Pig art and party studio in Shelton for the past several years and now she is excited to be opening up a new location on Greenwood Avenue in Bethel this September.

Perry, who hails from England, told Patch that she came up with the name from a children’s book she wrote called The Adventures Of The Giggling Pig. "I worked on a farm when I was a teen and adored the piglets," Perry said.

The Giggling Pig is an art studio for children of all ages and exists to provide a friendly, affordable and caring environment for children. It's also a wonderful place to hold your child's party, take art lessons, join in on a or drop in for a craft. Classes are offered for toddlers through adults and each age group can enjoy a selection of different activities.

"We value connection through expression and work with children on their confidence and self esteem. It's important to us that your children feel confident with their creativity and leave here feeling happy," Perry said.

Perry said what motivates her to create is the customers. "They come in and the kids draw pictures for us and we get huge hugs every day. That keeps me on the path of why I started this business to begin with and to keep moving forward."

She also said that giving back to the community is important. "We take care of families when they need our help. Sometimes this is done privately, sometimes publicly if we need help raising awareness. Last year I started a foundation called The Giggling Pig Family Foundation. Money raised or donated is put into this account to help us pay for camp, art lessons and classes for families who can’t afford to attend."
