2025 Municipal Election, Andrews Park Sidewalk, Senior Center Holiday Shoppe, Winter Guard Clothing Drive and more Bethel news…
**News Release Submitted by Bethel First Selectman Carter**
Nov. 7, 2025
Dear Bethel,
2025 Municipal Election
The moderator report for the 2025 Municipal Election is available on the town website and the CT Secretary of State Election Center page has been updated. The results took some time to confirm because the Voter Registrars were diligently comparing results to ensure accuracy. There was also an issue with the template for our charter revision questions on the Secretary of State’s system which caused some delays. Our Town Clerk has provided a list of our new boards and commissions on our website and all the charter revision questions passed. For all election information visit: https://bethel-ct.gov/2025-Elections.
When looking at results, you may notice that there are individuals with a higher number of votes than another person on the ballot that were not elected. The winning candidates filling the remainder of a term are “seated” first. Since we have a minority representation in state statute and our charter, there is a maximum number of individuals from one party that can be on the board. That number is listed on the Town Clerk’s document with the term. Example: (4 YEAR TERM- 7 MEMBERS- MAX 5). If the maximum number of candidates from one party is reached, the candidate with the highest vote from another party is seated.
I big shoutout to all the candidates who entered the political arena to serve our community and a congratulations to those who have been elected to represent us! All elected officials will be sworn in on Monday, December 1st at 7pm in the Bethel High School auditorium. Everyone is welcome to join.

The sidewalk along Greenwood Ave in front of Andrews Park was paved this week for the safety of our residents. We are expecting the state DOT will inspect and repair the entire embankment in the future and install a concrete sidewalk.
