Obituary: Richard 'Rick' Osiecki, 75, Of Bethel
After serving in the U.S. Navy, Rick joined the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier, retiring after 35 years of service.

BETHEL, CT — Richard “Rick” Osiecki, 75, of Bethel, husband of Patricia (Ventrudo) Osiecki, died on Thursday evening, Oct. 19, 2023, at his home.
Rick was born at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Coco Solo, Panama Canal Zone on June 19, 1948 a son of the late Rose (Alteresio) and Chester M. Osiecki Sr.

A Danbury area resident since 1961, he attended local schools and was a U.S. Naval veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1967 to 1971.
Upon his honorable discharge from the United States Navy, and as a Buyer for several businesses in the area, Rick joined the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier, retiring after 35 years of service.

A woodworker and craftsman, Rick along with Pat, Morgan, Steve, and Chet known as R & R Design displayed seasonal creations at many craft shows throughout New York and Connecticut.
He was a member of the Polish American Citizens Club of Danbury and the National Association of Letter Carriers.
In addition to his wife Pat of forty years, he is survived by a daughter Morgan Zazuri and her husband Steve and seven-week old grandson Stevie; a brother Chester M. Osiecki Jr. and his wife Donna and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Rick was predeceased by his sister Teri Osiecki Garrison.
Graveside funeral services with military honors and interment will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023 at 10:45 a.m. in Section 18 of St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury on Monday, Oct. 23, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rick’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
