NEWTOWN/BETHEL, CT — Mr. Howard Lasher will once again host a remembrance ceremony at the site of his flag trees memorial, 68 Dodgingtown Road, Newtown, to honor those lost in the terrorist attacks on September 11th. In September of 2001 Mr. Lasher commissioned artist David Merrill to paint a tribute in memory of the American Stock Exchange brokers, and all of the others, who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Mr. Lasher said that nine of his friends who died in the attacks were members and former members of the American Stock Exchange. The tenth person was Andrew Golkin, a trader a Cantor Fitzgerald who was the son of an American Stock Exchange Specialist Gerald Golkin.

Mr. Lasher said, “The American Flag Memorial is about the people who tragically lost their lives on September 11 and also for all those men and women who have given their lives in defense of our great nation. Whether it be Iraq, Afghanistan and all the wars. The American Flag Memorial represents what they died for.”
