The State Bonding Commission approved a $500,000 grant to support the Parloa Park project, which will require matching funds allocated by Bethel's Board of Selectmen (BOS) and Board of Finance (BOF). This combined investment will enhance the park’s accessibility and features, bringing new life to one of the community’s favorite recreational spots.

Representative Raghib Allie-Brennan, who was instrumental in securing the state funds, commented, “I'm really proud to have secured the funding to give Parloa Park the upgrade it’s been needing for a while. So many residents have commented on the state of the park, and now we can finally be proud of it again. I’m excited to see people of all ages enjoying the space, and one of the best parts is that it will be wheelchair and stroller accessible, so everyone can come and enjoy."
