Philip Donald Gioia, 35, of Bethel, Passed Away

BETHEL, CT — An angel returned to heaven. Philip Donald Gioia, age 35, born in the Bronx, NY, passed away October 30, 2016 at 5:42 PM. He is survived by his favorite shadow and daughter Sabrina, age 8, his parents who will miss him with all their hearts— Philip M. and Patricia E Gioia. He is also survived by his grandfather Donald W. Knipe.

He will be deeply missed by his sisters and biggest fans Lauren Stowell and Jillian Gioia, and his best fishing partner his loyal brother Douglas Gioia. He also leaves behind his ex-wife and friend Saskia Gioia, brother in law Tyler Stowell, and soon to be family member Kevin Jarrin.

He is survived by Aunts Carol LaCalamito and Dawn Fitzmaurice, Uncle Michael Fitzmaurice, cousins Danielle and Michael Lacalamito, Taylor Fitzmaurice, Christopher Fitzmaurice and Max Gioia. His nephew Zachary Stowell who learned where is your nose from Philip will miss him as well. He is also survived by Annabella Lacalamito, his second cousin.

Philip had the heart of a lion who fiercely loved all his family and was loved in return. Go Jets! Philip's favorite football team, a forever fan.

The wake will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St. Danbury Ct. on Friday, November 4th 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday November 5th at St. Mary Church in Bethel at 12PM, with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
