Poll Puts Bethel Write-In Ahead in Governor Race
Write-in candidate Daniel Gaita's online campaign for governor is reportedly gaining traction.

The U.S. Marine, non-politically affiliated, longshot, write-in candidate for the Nov. 4, 2014 Connecticut Governors race just got interesting following the results of a new DRG Poll that placed his social network only campaign 19 points ahead of Foley and 22 points ahead of Malloy.
“Our elected offices are no longer for sale to the highest contributor, donor, or PAC,” Gaita said. “CT is going to be returned to her people in November and I won’t ask the voters for a penny to do it!”
The sudden boost in notoriety and popularity came following Gaita’s public release of his Plan To Fix CT where he clearly articulates both the problems and solutions he will address in restoring CT and setting an example for Washington, DC.
His four-point plan focuses on CT’s outrageous taxes, poor fiscal discipline, repairing CT’s awful business environment, and addresses our States pattern of repeated legislative failures.
Gaita represents a new bread of Armed Forces Veterans entering the political arena in hopes of restoring local, State and National community volunteerism and service while replacing the ilk of entitled elites currently squandering our wealth, values, and sense of purpose.
This year, CT Senator Toni Boucher also faces a challenge as she seeks her reelection bid by an unaffiliated, write-in, newcomer and Marine Corps veteran of operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Her challenger, Thomas Burke, a graduate from Sacred Heart University has just been accepted into Yale Divinity School marking an historic precedent.
Neither Gaita’s nor Thomas Burke’s name will appear on the ballot as they declined endorsements or nominations from all major parties. Thus their voting supporters will have to write-in their names and fill in the bubble on this year’s election ballot. This is an extra step their opponents hope will cause confusion and reduce the impact they may have on the overall election results. “I have far more faith in the voters of CT than my opponents” said Gaita about the added detail of writing in his name and remembering to fill-in the bubble for it to be counted.
Both Foley and Malloy are expected to raise and expend over one hundred million dollars of taxpayer, donor, and PAC money to buy the office while Gaita has stood by his promise to never ask for a penny while conducting an entire online Facebook campaign on a shoestring budget expending less than a thousand dollars.
Given that the last race for Governor of CT was decided by a margin of only 6,000 votes, it is easy to see why the power elites are sending out their “rats” to dig up and create false accusations and claims to mitigate Gaita’s impact. A reality of politics that Gaita says highlights the need for a sweeping change in leadership at both the State and Federal level.
“While they [the candidates] work to destroy each other, I intend to present a plan and an agenda that will make us all stronger and bring this State back together for all of her people,” Gaita said.
