Protesters Rally In Bethel Against Trump Administration
About 65 Bethel residents gathered at P. T. Barnum Square to protest the current administration, vowing to rally every Saturday at 11 a.m.

BETHEL, CT — The first of many planned protests against the current administration in Washington D.C. filled P. T. Barnum Square on Saturday.
Denise Madeline and Cyndie McGuire, co-leaders of the grassroots community action group Bethel Blues, a group of about 160 members, estimated about 65 residents joined in the rally.
According to Madeline, the group "came to protest the current administration for its efforts to end our democracy, and take away the rights and freedoms of so many."

The crowd brought own signs, along with their children and pets, urging passing motorists to "honk for democracy."
The group will continue to rally Saturdays at 11 a.m. in Bethel, "until their voices are heard," Madeline told Patch.
