Ret. Marine Stephen Quatrano, 48, Killed in Motorcycle Accident Sunday

Stephen Francis Quatrano, 48, of New Preston, died unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at Danbury Hospital, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Bethel.

Quatrano was born in Waterbury on Sept. 9, 1965, son of Richard Quatrano of Watertown and the late Judy (Minucci) Quatrano. He was raised in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School, Class of 1983. He served in the Marine Corps and worked in the construction field for many years servicing heavy equipment.

A devoted father, he took great pleasure and pride in the birth of his first grandchild this July. He was a generous, kind, and loving person who would give you the shirt off his back. He would do anything for a perfect stranger and that much more for the people he loved, which were many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Besides his father, he leaves his daughter, Kristen Quatrano and her fiancé, Matthew Bates, of Watertown; his son, Matthew Quatrano of Watertown; his grandson, Charlie Raymond Bates; his partner, Michelle Menke; his stepmother, Beverly Quatrano; his brothers, Michael Quatrano and his wife, Maura, of Watertown, and Todd Singewald and his wife, Cindy, of Wilton; his sisters, Diane Quatrano of Watertown, Alvina Quatrano of Naples, Fla., and Terry Hungerford and her husband, George, of Woodbury; his aunt, Nancy Synkewecz of Plymouth; his uncle, Frank Minucci and his wife, Betty, of Watertown; his cousins, Susan and Al Lussier, David and Chris Minucci; and Debra Minucci-Stella and her husband Carl Stella; many nieces and nephews, including Michelle, Nicholas, and Owen; Erin and Emily; and Jesse, Leah, Jake, and Kayci; and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main Street, Watertown. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church.

Burial of ashes will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.

Friends may call at Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown, Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
