Shoplifter At Bethel Target Store Nabbed With $1,200 Of Merch: Police
Police report they apprehended a "known shoplifter" with a cart full of goods from the Stony Hill Road Target store.
BETHEL, CT — Police foiled an ambitious shoplifting attempt last week.
At around 9:37 p.m. on April 15, Bethel police officers visited the Stony Hill Road Target store following a report of shoplifting.
The suspect, a 34-year-old woman from Derby Avenue in New Haven, was a "known shoplifter," according to police, and had already passed all points of sales with a shopping cart of goods valued at $1,200.

After receiving medical treatment at Danbury Hospital, the woman was charged with 4th degree larceny and interfering with an officer. After the woman had given them several false identities, police discovered she had four active warrants for her arrest, each for failure to appear in the second degree. She was unable to post her bond of $72,000, and was taken to Danbury Superior Court for arraignment the next day.
