'Significant Injuries' In 2-Car Bethel Crash: Report
Both motorists were trapped inside their demolished cars following the crash in Bethel.
BETHEL, CT — Firefighters rescued two motorists trapped in their cars following a crash on Sunday.
Bethel police were first notified of the collision at around 2:45 Sunday afternoon. First responders to the site on Route 53 near the Danbury town line found the two demolished cars with their drivers still inside each.
"Both operators were freed from their vehicles by the combined effort of the Bethel Fire Department and Stony Hill Fire Department and both patients were transported to Danbury Hospital for care," Bethel Fire & EMS posted on its Facebook page.

Both drivers suffered "significant injuries," according to the report.
The cause and circumstances of the crash are under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact Officer DeOliveira at 203-744-7900 ext. 650.
