State Representatives Announce Flag Collection

Flag collection will be held Wednesday, June 1 through Monday, June 13 at designated locations in Danbury.

In honor of Flag Day, State Rep. Janice Giegler (R-138), Dan Carter (R-2), Richard A. Smith (R-108) and Stephen Harding (R-107), in cooperation with the Danbury Council of Veterans and Catholic War Veterans Post #1042, are hosting a flag collection for residents to retire their worn American flags at two locations in Danbury.

The U.S. Flag Code specifies that old or worn American flags no longer in service must be properly disposed of. The representatives encourage constituents to drop worn flags in collection boxes at Danbury City Hall (155 Deer Hill Ave.) or the Danbury War Memorial (1 Memorial Dr.) from June 1-13 so that the flags can be honorably retired at a later date.
