'Winter Walk' Planned at Putnam Memorial Park

From Town of Redding: The annual Winter Walk at Putnam Memorial State Park takes place Saturday, Dec. 3. The tour leaves from the visitor center at 11 a.m., with the visitor center opening at 10 a.m. Attendees will learn the history of the park and of Redding's Revolutionary War camps.

Led by local author and historian Dan Cruson, also the park's archaeologist, the Winter Walk will include accompaniment by the 5th Connecticut Regiment, who will read entries from the real-life journals of soldiers who were stationed in Redding 238 years ago.
