Ever feel like you need a break from meat? Or maybe you're a lonely vegetarian/vegan looking for some compatriots in Bethel?
A monthly vegetarian/vegan dining series is here to help. For the past few months, local coffee shop Molten Java has offered a night of meat and dairy-free meals, each focused on a different cuisine. This Saturday night, they'll offer a three-course vegan take on Southern dining, featuring pulled non-pork and pecan pie.
"It's going to bring people out," said Molten Java's Mandy Conner. "My fiancée was vegan, and said it was very hard to do this in Bethel."
Conner is making the pecan pie on the menu, with most of the cooking provided by Molten Java owner Wendy Cahill. In the past months, they've offered Irish meals for St. Patrick's Day and Mexican dishes for Cinco De Mayo.

"We're starting to get a little bit of a following," said Connor.
Check out the full menu -- the meal is priced at $27 -- on Molten Java's Facebook page, and make a reservation by dropping by the coffee shop on Greenwood Avenue.
