2 Branford Beaches Shuttered Due To High Bacteria Levels: Health Dept

Monday's heavy rains are responsible for the high bacteria counts at two Branford beaches. Retesting is expected Tuesday afternoon.

BRANFORD, CT —Stony Creek Beach on Thimble Island Road and Clark Avenue Beach, Short Beach, have been closed effective immediately, due to high bacteria counts from the recent heavy rains Monday morning, according to town and health officials.

Branford Point Beach located on Harbor Street remains open.

Re-testing is set for Wednesday.
