BHcare, Thimble Island Private Wealth Launch 'Treasure Chest' Snack & Play Cart

BRANFORD, CT — Commited to supporting the mental health and well-being of children and families, BHcare announced that Thimble Island Private Wealth has "aligned with its mission to support children and families through the creation of the 'Treasure Chest' Snack & Play Cart at BHcare's Parent Child Resource Center, located in North Branford and Derby.

The Treasure Chest is a cart filled with healthy snacks, water, fidget toys, Play-Doh, and other sensory items designed to bring comfort and relief to children attending therapy sessions, crisis appointments, or intensive outpatient programs (IOPs).

BHcare‘s Parent Child Resource Center is a licensed Child Guidance Clinic that provides clinical and support services for children, adolescents and teens who are struggling with behavioral health issues. "We guide them with innovative, creative and evidence-based programs that help engage them with school and help them become hopeful, confident, and secure," according to a news release from BHcare.

"After a long day of school, many children arrive for their appointments feeling hungry or anxious," said Jennifer Brown, LPC Program Manager of Children's Services at BHcare. "The Treasure Chest gives them access to nourishing snacks and calming activities, helping them feel more at ease so our clinicians can provide the best possible care. We are incredibly grateful to Thimble Island Private Wealth for making this vision a reality."
