BRANFORD, CT —The Branford Historical Society announces that it has successfully reached its fundraising goal of $35,000 for its "Raise the Roof" campaign. Thanks to donors, the Harrison House Museum and Barn will soon receive much-needed new roofs.

The fundraising campaign was launched by the Branford Historical Society to address urgent repair needs for the Harrison House Museum and Barn. The Harrison House celebrates its 300th anniversary in 2024 and this significant milestone ensures the preservation of this historical landmark for future generations.

Built in 1724, four generations of Harrisons lived on the property, followed by three more generations of the Linsley family. In 1938, J. Frederick Kelly, a prominent architectural historian, bought the Harrison House and painstakingly restored it. Upon his death, Kelly left the property to Historic New England to be kept and preserved until the Society purchased it in 2016.
