More additions mean more money, but that isn't stopping the library from seeking more routes for improvement.

James Blackstone Memorial Library in Branford’s trustees are seeking a 2,500-square-foot addition to the already proposed library expansion that would create a new entrance in the back of the library, near the parking area, and would include a terrace, the New Haven Register reported.
The entire renovation is estimated to cost about $4.8 million, and the library has already secured a $1 million grant from the Connecticut State Library construction grants, the Register reported. Additional funds are being sought from private donations and funding from the town, as well as $500,000 from various state bonds that need to be secured by March of 2018.

This extra addition would also allow for the expansion of service desks and additions of bathrooms, the Register reported, as well as moving the library’s administrative offices to the top floor, moving the children’s section to the ground floor and adding a teen section with its own cafe and 11 new computers with Internet access.
These proposals are also available for the public to see in the library’s rotunda.
