Branford-made Laveo toilet earns "Best New Product of the Year" Award

Award received during Independent Living Expo in Melbourne, Australia

This week, the Laveo Dry Flush waterless portable toilet received the "Best New Product of the Year Award" during the 2025 Independent Living Expo in Melbourne, Australia hosted by Assisted Technology Suppliers Australia (ATSA). The innovative toilet is manufactured in the U.S.A. by Waterless Toilets, located at 4 Indian Neck Avenue in Branford.

"I'm thrilled by this honor, because we have been eager to grow Laveo awareness, sales and usage in global health care," said owner Doug Rice. "Our first foray into home care was in 2022, when we had a display at MedTrade East in Atlanta," he added; "then in 2023, the Laveo appeared in AARP Magazine and Home Care magazine. This award is one more exciting step in the process." Rice thanked DryFlush Australia, the company's exclusive distributor in Australia and New Zealand, for doing such a fine job with the Laveo display at the Independent Living Expo and with marketing and selling the Laveo in their territory. "Their enthusiasm for the Laveo is contagious," he remarked.

Other, more established and popular uses of the Laveo waterless portable toilet include camping and RVing, boating, fishing, trucking, tailgating, small buildings and tiny homes. The company also has a desire to increase sales and usage in the realm of emergency management.
