Branford Police Charge 2 In Connection With Fight, Find Gun On One: PD

Two 19-year-olds from New Haven were charged in connection with a Friday night fight, one of whom had a 45 caliber Ruger on him, police say.

BRANFORD, CT — While investigating a reported assault in the Greens Condominiums late last Friday night, police learned that three people had fled on foot and one person may have had a gun, Branford police said in a news release.

Officers began a canvas of the area and found 19-year-old Nyeja Bember and determined she was involved in a fight. She was later charged with second-degree breach of peace and disorderly conduct.

Meanwhile, while she was being detained, cops were looking for two men that also fled on foot, police said. One of the men was seen running into Junior’s Billiard Bar and was arrested there "without incident" police said.

Identified as 19-year-old Nahshon Langs of New Haven, police said he had a .45 caliber Ruger firearm. He was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, disorderly conduct, and second-degree breach of peace was released after posting a $25,000 bond, police said.

With the assistance of East Haven Police Department, the third person was located, and the investigation revealed he was not involved in the fight earlier in the evening, police said
