Branford Police Make Statement On George Floyd Killing
"We too are hurt by what we saw in Minneapolis and the ongoing erosion of police-community relationships," police said.
BRANFORD, CT — Police departments across the country have released statements amid protests and unrest in the wake of George Floyd's death while in police custody. One officer was later arrested and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.
On Wednesday, Branford police released a statement condemning the actions of officers involved in the death.

"As the turmoil continues across our nation, Branford Police would like to assure our community that we too are hurt by what we saw in Minneapolis and the ongoing erosion of police-community relationships. We recognize that there is uncertainty in our community and many others across the country. We want to assure our community, that the Branford Police department is committed to serving the public with honor, integrity and trust. We pride ourselves by serving everyone impartially. We will continue to work diligently to earn the trust of all our community members. We will treat the public that we serve with dignity and respect and we will always hold ourselves accountable.We thank community members for their continued support. It is through this support that we are able to effectively serve all."
