UPDATE: Branford’s Mike Olt Promoted To Red Sox AAA Pawtucket

Olt, who was a number one draft choice coming out of UConn has been in the major leagues with several teams, now in Sox organization.

BRANFORD, CT – Branford’s Mike Olt has been promoted to the Red Sox AAA affiliate in Pawtucket due to injuries on the major league squad.

The Red Sox called up Tzu-Wei Lin to the major league after shortstop Xander Bogaerts was put on the disabled list due to injury earlier this week. That left an opening on the Pawtucket team - and Olt was called up.

Olt, the former UConn graduate who grew up in Branford, signed with the Red Sox in the pre-season of 2017 and played the entire 2017 season with Portland Sea Dogs, the Red Sox AA affiliate.
