UPDATE: Branford Schools Choose Fair Haven Principal for John B. Sliney School
Margaret-Mary Gethings will make the switch from Fair Haven schools to Branford as she takes on the role of Sliney elementary's principal.

Hamlet M. Hernandez, Superintendent of Schools, Branford Public Schools, announced that after a comprehensive search process, Margaret-Mary Gethings will be appointed at this evening’s Board of Education meeting, as the Principal of John B. Sliney Elementary School.
Margaret-Mary is currently the principal of Fair Haven Middle School, a K-8 school in New Haven, CT.
Gethings has a Masters Degree in Special Education and also a 6th year Degree from Southern Connecticut State University.

“She has an exceptional instructional background, with over 22 years of experience, and is well versed in all aspects of Instructional Leadership. Her proven and highly successful record of working with staff and the community to maximize learning outcomes for all students is exemplary. Mrs. Gethings “can-do” attitude is infectious and for the past three years her school has attained the highest rating on the District’s school climate survey,” Hernandez said in a prepared statement.
