Contract For Branford School Administrators Proposes Increase: Report

Wage increases will be partially offset by increased insurance contributions.

BRANFORD, CT — The contract for school administrators is up for a vote and the proposed contract calls for 2.5 percent annual raises. However, the contract also increases contributions to health insurance and raises deductibles.

According to an article in The Branford Seven, superintendent Hamlet Hernandez estimates that the insurance savings will partially offset the cost of the contract, increasing it by only $19,000. Healthcare deductibles rise from $1,500 for an individual and $3,000 for a family to $2,000 and $4,000 by 2019.

Administrators get 28 vacation days a year, eight of which can be carried over, plus two personal days.
