Coronavirus: Branford EMS Dons Protective Gear For 911 Calls

Coronavirus concerns mean Branford's fire and EMS crews are responding to calls wearing extra protective gear.

BRANFORD, CT — Even in a crisis, the day-to-day emergencies in Branford aren't taking a break. On Thursday, Branford Fire-EMS responded to 30 calls, requirring crews "to don additional Personal Protective Equipment" as a necessary safeguard against the new coronavirus, according to a Facebook post by the Branford Fire Department.

A photo attached to the post shows an ambulance crewmember wearing a protective gown and face mask.

"We have instituted a whole range of new procedures to ensure we continue to serve you in the safest and most efficient manner possible," the post continued. "We would like to express our deepest appreciation for the outpouring of support from our community. We are in this together and together we will get healthy again. Thank you Branford!"
