Did Branford Make Right Call Holding Fireworks in Rain?

Branford fireworks went off this past Sunday; the Fireworks Committee said its hand was forced because fireworks were postponed on Saturday.

BRANFORD, CT - Whether Branford should have held its annual fireworks extravaganza this past Sunday night - sometimes in a driving rainstorm - has been the topic of much debate on social media the past few days.

Branford officials have tried to explain that their hand was forced because it only had a two-day window to hold the fireworks - it had to be on Saturday night, June 23rd or Sunday, June 24th.

Because the original show was called off on Saturday - even though it rained much less Saturday than Sunday - officials said if the show wasn’t held on Sunday it wouldn’t have been held at all.
