BRANFORD, CT — The Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter is hoping that someone will come forward with any information about a dog that was alleged to have been left in the parking lot of the Branford Stop & Shop.

"This dog was found abandoned in Branford, supposedly at the Stop and Shop around 11 a.m., Monday," a Facebook post from the shelter staff reads. The staff notes that "there is nothing" to show on the parking lot's surveillance cameras.

"We would like our friends in Waterbury, Milford, and Bridgeport to carefully look at this dog and tell us if you know the owner," the shelter wrote. "We have reason to believe the original owners are located in one of these areas."
