Driver Rescued From 'Precariously Positioned' Car After Crash In Branford: FD

Fire officials said a driver was rescued from a car that was "precariously positioned" on a seawall after crashing into a tree in Branford.

BRANFORD, CT — A driver was rescued from a car that was "precariously positioned" on a seawall after crashing into a tree Friday evening in Branford, according to fire officials.

In a news release, fire officials said crews were called to Flying Point Road in the Stony Creek area of town after receiving a report of a "car versus tree" incident.

When crews arrived, they found the car had left the roadway and was precariously positioned on a nearby seawall with the driver stuck inside, according to fire officials.

Crews used a grip hoist and chains to stabilize the vehicle and successfully extricated the driver from it, fire officials said.

Though the driver was unharmed, they were taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure, according to fire officials.
