East Shore Health, YMCA, Griffin Health, Hold Flu, COVID Vax Clinics

NEW HAVEN, CT —The East Shore Health Department is holding a flu vaccination clinic Saturday. And, partners Soundview YMCA and Griffin Health are holding a COVID-19 vaccination and booster clinic at the same time. They are virtually next door to each other on East Main Street.

"This allows the public to get their vaccinations all in one day," health educator Barbara Naclerio said in a news release.

The staff of the health department will be on hand at their office at 688 East Main St., Branford from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday to offer the following flu vaccines: the preservative free quadrivalent vaccine, the high dose / senior strength vaccine, and the nasal vaccine for those 49 years or younger without asthma or not immunocompromised, and the egg free vaccine.

The Soundview Family YMCA at 628 East Main St. in Branford will host Griffin Health on the same day, Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Available will be the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, both initial vaccinations and boosters. for those eligible.

"This is an opportunity for the whole family to be more protected through the winter season against what could be difficult flu season now that many people are not wearing masks," the health department news release reads.

"The health department does want to remind everyone to please wash their hands, stay home if they are sick and wear a mask if you have had contact with someone who has Covid-19 for a full 10 days after exposure."
