BRANFORD, CT — Last Wednesday, a 13-year-old girl died tragically, the "heartbroken," Branford Police Department shared.

The untimely death of the Walsh Intermediate School girl reverberated throughout the community and beyond, with countless people wondering how they might help support her family.

Monday, the family of Ivana Rosen shared that giving to help a "cause close to Ivana’s heart," would be a "beautiful way to keep her memory alive."

Laura Burban, DCAS director, said that the community lost "a very special young lady."

"Ivana was a true advocate for animals," Burban said. "And her smile would light up any room she was in."
